Methodists have always been a singing people, and the village church of Nisbet LOVES to sing! So every fifth Sunday, the preacher doesn’t preach, and we devote the entire hour to singing peoples’ choice hymns. It’s great fun, and we do hope you will join us and enjoy this celebration of music!
This year, Valentine’s Day is also Ash Wednesday. Join us at 7:00 p.m. for a worship service celebrating the beginning of the season of Lent.
Last Sunday, November 26, in the Nisbet Fire Hall, the congregation had a party to celebrate our oldest living member, Edna Hafer! Great food and great fun!

The village church of Nisbet will host a special luncheon, this Sunday, November 26, at the Nisbet Fire Hall, in honor of our oldest living member, Mrs. Edna Hafer.
Our annual Fall Craft Fair filled up all the space in the Nisbet Fire Hall with crafters and other vendors! There were also many shoppers, although my photos don’t show it! (I took advantage of a lull in the traffic to make a few photos for the website.)
The ladies of the village church made and served delicious food all day!
We were very pleased to welcome these members of the Nisbet Volunteer Fire Company and their families to our 2nd annual Fire Company Sunday, this morning!
Barb & Carl Steppe. Barb also keeps the village church of Nisbet clean and in good order, like a firetruck!
And what would a special Sunday in a Methodist church be, without food? Thanks, ladies!
The annual Nisbet Fall Craft Fair is slated for Saturday, November 4, from 9:00 to 2:00, in the Nisbet Fire Hall, across the street from the village church.
We’re expecting a capacity crowd of crafters and other vendors from all around the area, who will display their wares at the fair. Church members will serve a delicious lunch menu, with a variety of tasty desserts.
Among the other crafters and vendors, Pastor Bruce Wallace will be showing some of his framed photographs of landscapes, nature, and street subjects, which will also be for sale, either framed or unframed. The photo in this post is of a showing he had last December at The Station Gallery in Lock Haven.
The village church of Nisbet and the Nisbet Volunteer Fire Company are happy to present our 3rd annual Trunk ‘n’ Treat event on Halloween evening, October 31, in the Nisbet UMC church parking lot, across the street from the Fire Hall. Free candy for the kids! We really enjoyed seeing all the costumes last year!
The Force was with us all at Nisbet Trunk ‘n’ Treat!
Our members had a great time (and will do so again, this year!) celebrating Halloween with everyone who visited our Trunk ‘n’ Treat!
